Back To School!

Hi Knitters,

Are all of your kids back in school yet?  Mine went back this week.  Of course they aren't happy about that....but I am!   I feel they are now waking up with a purpose and actually, I think they were bored, it was a very hot summer and they spent a great deal of time inside.  Which really translates to, messing up my house and eating me out of house and home.  I think we (and actually, when I say we, I really mean my husband) went to the grocery store at least twice a week.  I am fortunate that I only have to do the grocery shopping once in a blue moon.

I've been thinking a lot about the upcoming holidays again and what I want to make as gifts this year.  I definitely need to get some socks done. My friend Marjorie is doing a couple of really cute ones and I will post them as soon as she sends me pictures. Marjorie, I'm going to get on those socks shortly!

So many things and so little time to knit!  Pictured here is a stack of my blocking that I need to do.  Two of them are gifts and two are for me.  The heathered grey is going to be the Shaw Hill Shrug by Alicia Plummer (Cascade Eco) , that's for me.  The green one is the Traveling Vine Scarf designed by Andi Clark (Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders), that is a gift.  The other two are actually the Oscilloscope Shawl designed by Kate Gagnon Osborn from Knitscene 2010. One of those is a gift and the other for me! I will block them with my new Block Roll that I purchased at Stitches Midwest.

I am currently working on the Medallion - Edged shrug in Spring 2012 Knit Wear Magazine, using Cascade's Heritage Silk, the color is called Raspberry.  I really like this yarn, the drape will be perfect for this pattern. The pattern recommended a size 2 needle but since I'm a tight knitter I am using size 4.  I thought it would take me forever to knit but it's actually knitting up fairly quickly.  I hope I get to wear it before the weather changes. It is really cute.

Before I forget, Paula from Knitting Pipeline did give me her permission to link to her sites.  You can find her at all of these locations.

Give her a listen she really has a nice podcast.
